An Inconvinient Truth: Wars & Hatred
The one thing I just cannot understand is why everyone can NOT get along. Like why cant we all just accept each other for who we are? Everyone is so caught up on their own beliefs and if other people dont share that same belief, automatically we hate them. Like the Holocaust for example, why must you hate on all the Jews? Its not their fault they're Jewish, thats just what they were born into! How can you punish them for that? They believe in their stuff just as the Germans believed in whatever they believed in. You never saw the Jews hating on them for anything! Why cant everyone just mind their own business! I feel that all countries now should just have nothing to do with each other. We should stop helping others and others stop helping us because its not doing any good. Its just the mindset that everyone has and there is no way we can change that and that really bothers me. They all say "oh this person isnt like me so lets judge them!" "start a war!" blah blah blah! We all just need to get with the program and realize that what were doing is harming us, wasting money, and not getting us any further. We need to accept, love, and respect each other so everyone from everywhere can be friends and we wont have to have any hatred or any wars or any of this stupid stuff that is a waste of time. I dont want to worry about bombs dropping on my country or me or my kids living through world disasters like that. And with the way its going, I dont think its going to get any better. The band Smashmouth said it perfectly in their song "Why cant we be friends?" We just have to change everyones mindsets to love and respect and I think well be just fine. But that is a looooong stretch.

I definitely agree with you! It's really sad that everyday basically we hear about our american soldiers dying in war and also other casualties from the war as well. All these wars are pointless to me and all this hate. Honestly what do you get from hating someone in the end? nothing, I feel like it puts stress on you if you hate someone like you have to avoid them and what not and than whenever you see them you'd get all mad. Thats all looking at the negative side. Why can't we look at the positives and try to make the best out of everything after all we do only have one life to live, why should we live it with pessimistic attitudes. Especially with other countries. Now that Osama is dead I'm scared for what might happen next. We never know...there could be an invasion from Al Queda here in the US but than again who knows. The last thing we all want is for the war to come to America.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. It's so sad that our culture is based off of striving in the downfalls of others. This is especially prevalent in high school because of the different groups and cliques that people are involved with. Most people also strive on building themselves up by rating others down. Which is so sad and mean :( And you're definitely right it's not about to get better any time soon. Especially with the killing of Osama. This is a perfect example of the issue you are trying to bring forward. The Americans are celebrating his death, which to me is very morbid. I feel that what we are doing is disrespectful and instead of celebrating we should be thankful of the accomplishment and move on. I really hope that one day world peace can be come true.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE how passionate you are about this. I could practically hear you ranting about this. And I can't say I blame you-- Sometimes I just look at our school hallways and see some of the seperation (especially after Kairos) and I wonder why we cannot all just live and get to know each person before deciding what we think about them. We always (try not to but) judge others by rumors and stuff, and that is the small scale of the world! Then I think about the world and wars etc. and see that we act just as ignorant in more cases. You said it well. I like your example of the Holocaust. It is truley sad to see these things get started-- even in the past.
